I was fortunate enough to be a product design intern on the AirPods Pro project, focusing on mechanical design and user experience. This included designing test fixtures/methods, conducting tests, analyzing data, and presenting results.
Siemens NX - Mechanical enclosure design to optimize battery life, wireless performance, and sound quality
Mechanical characterization testing, prototype manufacturing
Python, MATLAB data analysis
In-person user studies to evaluate prototype comfort
As part of my research of magnetically-actuated microrobots at the University of Toronto, I needed to develop an entirely new system to compactly generate strong and precise 2DOF magnetic fields.
While I didn’t spend anywhere near a majority of my Apple internship working on this product, I did contribute in a small way by conducting some tests late in the product development cycle. Homepod was announced to the public during my time as an Intern.
Material interaction testing
During my graduate studies at the University of Toronto, I took a role as a teaching assistant for MIE100, a first year dynamics course. My job was to create videos to explain examples and concepts for the students.
I enjoy teaching and making videos, so this was a natural role which I thoroughly enjoyed. I employed the manim (mathematical animation in python) library originally developed by popular YouTuber 3blue1brown. I got some pretty great feedback in the comments from the students. Find the videos on YouTube, and my code on github.

Audacity
Final Cut Pro
I made a printer that prints a random compliment on receipt paper every time the user presses the button, as a gift for my girlfriend.
SolidWorks, DFM, DFA
KiCAD
Python on Raspberry Pi
To motivate myself to learn more about electrical design, I set out to create a totally unique mechanical keyboard. This was my first time designing a custom PCB, and the end result met all my expectations.
KiCAD
AutoCAD
I designed and built a pressure vessel stand for Waterloo Rocketry. It improved the safety, ease of use, and expandability of the old stand. The design also includes a new solution for tank heating.
SolidWorks
Stability and strength analysis
To enter the mechanical keyboard hobby, I built myself a custom mechanical keyboard.
